for PS1.3

Traffic takes network air traffic from SquawkBox (SB747), displays detailed data on each traffic, and injects it into PS1 for processing by its internal TCAS logic. Compatible with all versions of Microsoft Windows (tm).

31 October 2004: Download Traffic v2.2b.

Setup
PC 1
  1. PS1.3A (incl EE versions)1
  2. VIDTSR
  3. 747IPC2
  4. Traffic
PC 2
  1. Broker
  2. MCDU3
  3. SB7474

1: PS1 TCAS simulation should be turned on from the Instructor menu.
2: The VMREAD module should be enabled in 747IPC.
3: The use of MCDU is optional but will add great value to the displayed data about online air traffic.
4: Traffic Passthrough should be turned on in SB747.

Next, edit the file TF.INI and set the IP address of the Broker PC, and the folder path to PS1 (on PC 1).

Start Broker, MCDU, SB747, VIDTSR, PS1, 747IPC, and finally Traffic.
You will see a new "<TRAFFIC" prompt on the MCDU Menu page. Select this prompt to access Traffic's menu and start using Traffic's features.
Connect SB747 to the network (VATSIM, IVAO, etc) as per routine. If there are aircraft in your vicinity, these will be listed in Traffic's window, or in Traffic's MCDU page. They may be displayed in PS1 depending on active TCAS settings. You will see their strobes and nav lights in PS1's external view.

Note: When there are more than 6 aircraft passed through from SB747 into Traffic, a complex algorithm will select the most appropriate 6 aircraft for injection into PS1. This algorithm factors into account aircraft speed, and distance.
